Headlines - Coach John Jordan recently accepted the head coaching position at Wentworth Military College in Missouri. ABI will continue to operate next season. The Hoop Gypsies had a great run at the NPSA National Prep Championships in Wilson this past weekend. The team started out with a close win over old nemisis, St Ignatious in the quarterfinals.James Webbs 30 pts and Royce Hunsburger's 18 paved the way. The semi-finals saw ABI take on the host and 6 time defending national champions, Charis Prep. In a nit and tuck battle, the home team's 8 year home winning streak stayed in tact as the Gypsies lost by 5. James Webb led all scorers with 42 pts and 14 rebounds. In the 3rd place game on Sunday, the Gypsies took on Raleigh's Body of Christ and held on for a 2 point win to capture third place in the national tournament. James Webb III picked up a new college suitor as Boise State came in strong. ABI Post Man, Aaron Scales has been named to the Jordan Brand Classic East Regional All Star Team. The game will be held April 14th a the Time-Warner Arena in Charlotte, NC. Scales has seen renewed interest from Cincinatti as well as having Drexel, Western Kentucky, Georgia State, JMU and several others enter the A Train Sweepstakes lately.
